Who We Are

Overdose Prevention and Education Project

The Opioid Overdose Prevention and Education Project began in Lac du Flambeau, in November 2017, and is funded by SAMHSA for four years. The following are the goals of the project.

  • 1 Provide training on opioids and opioid addiction.
  • 2 Provide training for all first responders and community members who work with the public, so they can identify a drug overdose and know how to administer Naloxone (Narcan), an overdose reversal drug.
  • 3 Equip all trained first responders and community members with Naloxone (Narcon) to reverse opioid drug overdose.
  • 4 Educate all first responders and community members about the treatment options for opioid addiction.
  • 5 Develop a data collection plan that includes: reporting Naloxone (Narcan) use and distribution and reporting the distribution of informational and educational brochures about opioid addiction.
